Cooking has always been my passion, knowing I wanted to do something with this skill but unsure how to implement it.

In collaboration with COUCOU, I realised cooking and bringing people together is what I enjoy most. Hosting retreats and events, and meeting a lot of inspiring people bring me energy and motivation to explore and develop further.

With all this, Mengelmoes started off as a fun little hobby, which I now am making my own job.

Mengelmoes is a Dutch saying, meaning a ‘big fun mess’. This would describe my style of cooking the best. Where I can be a little chaotic and the desire to do multiple things at the same time, which helps me be creative and eager to learn more and more. A favourite type of kitchen therefore doesn’t exist in my dictionary.

During the COUCOU retreat, the food will be a balance between health, comfort, colour, and local produce. Seasonal cooking has always been important to me: not only for its health benefits, but because it brings out the very best flavours of what Morocco has to offer. You’ll enjoy a selection of vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes, all made to share, to taste, and to connect over healthy (and sometimes not so healthy 😉), but always full of heart.

I am so excited to take over the kitchen during COUCOU retreats, and make cooking, and especially eating, fun, comforting, and inspiring!
